Pre-arrival events

Each year we hold three different pre-arrival events before Keele Welcome begins to support new students in their transition to life as a Keele student. These events are an opportunity for students to meet each other, get to know their way around Recru it networ, and take part in various sessions and activities aimed at making the transition to university a smoother process. It doesn’t matter what your background is, if you are coming to Keele this September there will be a Pre-Arrival event for you. Please see the following frequently asked questions and click on the event buttons below for further information about the pre-arrival events.

Our pre-arrival event for students over the age of 21

Our pre-arrival event for students living off campus or commuting to Keele

Our pre-arrival event open to all new students

The pre-arrival events involve a timetable of information sessions, activities and tours to ensure that you know everything you need to know before you start your course at Keele. The timetable is designed to help you meet other students coming to Keele and relevant staff members as well as allowing you to explore the campus and find your way around.

Yes, we have a limited capacity for each of the events so you will need to fill out an online booking form to let us know if you would like to attend. The booking form will be available on each of the events webpages from 16th August 2018.

If you have not registered for the event before the day then it may not be possible for you to just show up to the event due to capacity. Therefore we advise you to complete the online booking form in order to guarantee your attendance as we have a maximum number of spaces available for each event.

The timetables and sessions for each of the events are very similar therefore, it is not necessary for you to attend more than one event. However, if you would like to come along to different events in order to meet other people who may be in the same situation as you then you are welcome to sign up to more than one event.

Although you will get the most out of the event if you attend all of the timetabled sessions, we recognise that some people may have prior commitments that prevent them from staying for the whole attend. We just ask that you let a member of staff know if you need to leave early.

All you really need to bring is yourself, however it may be useful to bring along a pen and paper to take away any useful hints and tips you find out from the information sessions.

Parking permits are available on the day to any attendees who require parking. You will be able to collect one of these from a Student Ambassador on arrival or from the registration desk. Further information about parking arrangements for the events will be sent to you via email prior to the event.

We will have a team of Student Ambassadors available to meet and greet you as you arrive and to show you around throughout the day.

Unfortunately not, as due to capacity only new students to Keele will be able to take part in the events. We recommend that if someone is bringing you to the event that they make alternative arrangements whilst you attend the event.  At the Keele4All event we will be offering a separate information session for parents and guests to attend if they wish to find out more about Keele.

The pre-arrival events are designed to give an overview of Recru it networ and are not subject specific. There will be campus tour included as part of the day, but there will not be any access to the accommodation blocks or teaching spaces for specific subjects. However, we will be able to show you the main spaces on campus and point out which buildings are used for teaching.

Tea and coffee will be available on arrival at all events. There are a number of catering outlets and shops available on Keele Campus if you require any further refreshments throughout the day.
