Your room is fully equipped with bed, noticeboard, wardrobe, desk, shelves, WiFi internet access and telephone. The floor is carpeted and there will be a blind or curtains on the windows.
All accommodation is self catering although we have a wide variety of food outlets and meal options that allow you to eat according to your lifestyle and schedule. In addition to this, we also offer a Student Catering Package. This gives you breakfast and an evening meal, 5 days a week.
Your kitchen is fully fitted and has cooking facilities including a microwave, a fridge, a freezer and a kettle, so all you will need to bring is cutlery, crockery, pots and pans.
Most accommodation is let as single occupancy. However we have some flats and houses available for couples and families - details are available on request. Alternatively you will need to find accommodation off campus. We have more information about help living off campus.
No, this is included in the accommodation fee. We also include basic contents insurance and students are able to take out a ‘top up’ if they wish to insure expensive items separately.
It will depend on which block and Hall you are allocated a room in. Blocks can be as small as 8 bedrooms and as large as 238 bedrooms. Please view the details of our accommodation to find information about your specific hall of residence.
We include basic contents insurance in the accommodation fee, however we suggest you to check that this provides sufficient cover for all the items you will bring with you such as a bike or laptop. Read more about our included contents insurance.
Yes, you will need a if you bring a TV or use your PC to watch TV (including downloading or watching BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand). TV reception on campus is variable and you can subscribe to Freeview via your PC. The TV sockets are no longer connected in the bedrooms as most students watch TV using their laptop. You will still need a TV Licence for this.

Sometimes it's possible for students to arrive early (i.e. before the start date on your accommodation contract), but only if you have already checked with the Student Accommodation Office (your room may not be available earlier than your tenancy start date). If you arrive early, the nightly rate for the room will be charged and added to your account.
If you wish to arrive early, us as soon as possible and we will discuss the available options. Please note that you must receive written confirmation by email BEFORE you arrive.
If you arrive without notifying the Student Accommodation Office, your room may not be available and you may need to stay in a local hotel.
Your username is your Keele Student number. If you have forgotten the password, you can change this quickly and easily on the accommodation application portal. Please us if you are having trouble.
This is the information that we ask you to complete before you arrive and collect your key. This is important so please make sure you read this carefully as it contains essential health and safety information. At the end of the induction you will be able to print off your Accommodation Boarding Pass - you MUST bring this with you so that you can collect your key.
You will find this after you have completed the accommodation induction - you will need to print this and hand it in when you collect your keys. We are unable to hand out keys without this Boarding Pass.
